W dniach 5-9 pa•dziernika 2010 roku chcemy zaprosi• do Olsztyna teatry z W•gier, Czech i Slowacji. Ide• Festiwalu jest przybli•enie teatru i dramaturgii krajów tzw. bylego bloku wschodniego. Po zachly•ni•ciu si• Zachodem i nasyceniu nowinkami wcze•niej niedost•pnej kultury, Polacy z ciekawo•ci• zwrócili ku krajom, z którymi maj• podobny baga• do•wiadcze•. Poszukuj•c spektakli na Festiwal, koncentrujemy si• na mlodej, wci•• w Polsce niemal nieobecnej dramaturgii lub na dzielach klasycznych, lecz poddanych nowej interpretacji. Podczas poprzednich edycji DEMOLUDÓW zestawiali•my polskie do•wiadczenia ze sztuk• rosyjsk•, go•cili•my jedyny niezale•ny teatr z Bialorusi, przygl•dali•my si• tekstom ukrai•skim i litewskim. W ubieglym roku skierowali•my si• na Balkany -naszymi go••mi byly najwi•ksze gwiazdy teatrów z bylej Jugoslawii; spotkali•my si• m.in. z Biljan• Srbljanovi•. Ale DEMOLUDY to nie tylko spotkanie z teatrem danego kraju, to tak•e przygl•danie si• jego szeroko rozumianej kulturze. Co roku naszemu Festiwalowi towarzysz• wystawy (to w Olsztynie Polacy po raz pierwszy mogli zobaczy• prace kontrowersyjnej grupy rosyjskich fotografików "Niebieskie nosy"), koncerty, czytania performatywne i spotkania z twórcami. Przez trzy lata istnienia DEMOLUDY zyskaly grono wiernych widzów, przychylno•• dziennikarzy, krytyków teatralnych i mieszka•ców miasta. Festiwal ci•gle si• rozwija, o czym •wiadczy odzew w prasie czy rosn•ce zainteresowanie nie tylko olsztynian, ale tak•e go•ci z Polski. Szczególy konkursu podamy w jednym z najbli•szych newsletterów i na naszej stronie: www. demoludy.art.pl Marcin Zawada (dyrektor artystyczny) i zespól Festiwalu DEMOLUDY DEMOLUDY on Facebook Dear Friends, The echoes of the previous DEMOLUDY can be still heard (by the end of 2009, blocks of texts related to our Festival had appeared in Polish leading theatre magazines 'Teatr' and 'Didaskalia') but already we would like to announce another (the fourth) year. From 5 to 9 October 2010 we would like to invite theatres from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary to Olsztyn. The idea of the Festival is to introduce the theatre and drama of the so called former Eastern Bloc to Polish audiences. After relishing the West and feasting on theinnovations from a formerly unreachable culture - the Poles have turned with growing curiosity to those countries with the same accumulated experience. In making a selection of the performances for the Festival we are permanently searching for contemporary (still relatively absent in Poland) dramaturgy or for newly interpreted classical works. In previous editions of DEMOLUDY we have compared Polish experiences with Russian art, we hosted the only independent theatre from Belarus and we examined Ukrainian and Latvian texts. Last year we pointed to the Balkans - the most eminent theatre stars from the former Yugoslavian countries were our guests; one of them, among others, was Biljana Srbljanovi•. However DEMOLUDY not only encounters the theatre from a country, it also explores its wider culture. Every year our festival is accompanied by exhibitions (in Olsztyn, Polish viewers could see works by the Russian controversial photographers 'Blue Noses'), concerts, performative readings and meetings with artists. During the last three years DEMOLUDY has gained a faithful circle of viewers and received a sympathetic response from journalists, theatre critics and the citizens of Olsztyn. The festival continues to grow, as evidenced by the response of the press and the growing interest of people not only from Olsztyn but also of visitors from across Poland. For those who would like to participate artistically in our annual holiday we have good news - we will hold a contest for the visual identification of the Festival.
